Solution (2 moves)

1. Opponent setup: Qxg4 — queen g5→g4, captures pawn. Now Black to move.
2. Best move: a3+ — pawn a4→a3, gives check. Opponent replies Kc1 (king b2→c1).
3. Best move: b2+ — pawn b3→b2, gives check.

Why this works

Black's two advanced passed pawns on the third and fourth ranks are the crux of the position. After 1...a3+, White's king is forced to c1 (the only legal move); then 2...b2+ drives it further, to b1 or d1. The critical point is that these checks are not quiet: each pawn advance is a forcing check that prevents White from consolidating. White's queen on g4 and remaining pieces cannot stop both pawns simultaneously. If White tries 3.Kb1, then 3...a2+ forces the king to a1, and Black threatens b1=Q# — the pawn promotes with the king trapped in the corner. If 3.Kd1, Black plays 3...a2 and threatens a1=Q next, while the b2 pawn controls c1 and c2, cutting off White's king's escape routes. The passed pawns' advanced position, combined with the check sequence, forces perpetual defensive moves from White, achieving equality in a position that looked dangerous for Black.
